The 10th European Conference on Weaning and Rehabilitation in Critically Ill Patients has come to an end – and what a conference it was!
With more participants than ever before, an inspiring scientific programme and many opportunities for exchange and discussion, the 2026 conference in Paris was a great success.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the French organising team and all the volunteers and helpers who made this event possible. Our thanks also go to all our speakers and workshop leaders for sharing their expertise and experience, to our sponsors and partners for their valuable support, and, of course, to all the participants who joined us in Paris and contributed to the lively exchange throughout the two days.
A special thank you goes to the Société de Kinésithérapie de Réanimation (SKR) and the French team for hosting us in Paris and for their tremendous commitment to the conference.
Looking ahead: See you in 2028!
The European Conference on Weaning and Rehabilitation will continue its cooperation with DIVI and will return in 2028, continuing the biennial rhythm of the conference.
Where will we meet next? That is still to be decided – and perhaps your country could be our next host!
We are now inviting colleagues and teams from across Europe to express their interest in hosting the 2028 European Conference on Weaning and Rehabilitation in Critically Ill Patients.
Potential host countries have already expressed interest, but no decision has yet been made. We therefore warmly encourage interested teams from across Europe to apply.

Please submit your expression of interest by 14 October 2026.
At the end of October, all interested applicants will be invited to an online information meeting, where we will provide further background on the organisation of the conference, the requirements for a host and the support available.
We look forward to continuing to build this European community together – and to discovering where the next ICU Recovery Conference will take us in 2028!
